world wide.
The DSSD has placed teams of engineers
at customer sites, worldwide, including: four sites in Korea -
Seoul, Camp Humphries, Pyongtoek, and Uijongbu; six sites in Germany
- Darmstadt, Heidelburg, Bad Kreuznach, Wiesbaden, Bad Aibling and
Wurzburg; Kosovo; Bosnia; Puerto Rico; Washington, DC; Ft. Huachuca,
AZ; Ft. Carson/Colorado Springs, CO; Ft. Belvoir/Alexandria, and
Arlington, VA; Ft. Bragg/Fayetteville, NC; Ft. Gordon/Augusta, and Ft. Stewart/Hinesville, GA; Ft.
Campbell/Hopkinsville, KY; Ft. Hood/Killeen, TX; Ft. Polk, La; Fort
Leavenworth, Ks; Ft. Bliss, TX; Goodfellow AFB, TX; Ft.
Drum/Watertown, NY; Ft. Lewis/Tacoma, WA; Annapolis Junction, MD;
and Ft. Shafter and Schofield Barracks, Honolulu, HI. The DSSD can
quickly and effectively establish, staff and equip new facilities at
any location in response to customer needs.
The DSSD has extensive systems and
software development and sustainment experience in which current and
emerging technology has been applied to develop state-of-the-art
solutions to our customers’ problems in the following technology
areas:
Post
Deployment Software Support (PDSS) - The DSSD provides support
to the military intelligence community in the Post Deployment
Software Support of in excess of forty Intelligence, Electronic
Warfare, Fusion, Sensor and Training systems and software ranging
from large Intelligence gathering and fusion systems to legacy
signal intelligence systems and training systems. Expertise in communication and electronic
signal detection, intercept, analysis, communications intelligence,
electronic intelligence and
countermeasure generation for signals from radio frequency through radar and
laser frequencies is employed in supporting these systems. Knowledge
of antenna technology, pattern recognition techniques, detection and
identification algorithms and jamming techniques are applied in
providing real-time solutions to intelligence and electronic warfare problems. The DSSD has
developed tools, techniques and processes for all phases of the
software life cycle that permit software changes to be quickly
implemented, validated and disseminated world wide in response to
threat changes. State-of-the-art simulation and modeling techniques
are used to engineer environment simulators and test beds that
provide timely, economical validation of software change
effectiveness in accurate battlefield scenarios. Innovative graphic
user interface and man-machine interface solutions tuned to the user’s environment provide our customers
with useful, user-friendly systems. Developments and enhancements
using centralized and distributed architectures and client-server
technology have been successfully completed which provide totally
compliant solutions to real-time high volume transaction processing
requirements. Services in real-time system design, performance
analysis and optimization, systems integration, interoperability
certification, and technology insertion to mature systems serve to
enhance to system functionality and usefulness and extend to useful
life of supported systems.
Software Reuse, Re-Engineering, Domain Engineering and Software
Process Improvement - The DSSD has advanced the state-of-the-art
in software reuse, domain engineering and re-engineering technology
through participation in the Software Technology for Adaptable
Reliable Systems (STARS). Considerable experience has been gained in
domain analysis, software process modeling, system/software process
baselining, identification of process-related metrics, and
collection, analysis and reporting of metrics data. The extensive
use of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and
techniques in engineering system and software requirements has
extended DSSD’s technology base. This technology base permits DSSD
to provide economic and timely solutions to new requirements based
on previously developed assets through reuse and re-engineering and
to control, measure and constantly improve our software processes
and those of our customers.
Multimedia/Computer Based Training (CBT) Systems - ILEX DSSD
employs a state-of-the-art multimedia laboratory to generate
innovative solutions to customer requirements for interactive
computer based training and automated on-line "paperless"
documentation. These solutions are integrated with hypertext for
instant access to tutorial, or other supporting information. This
laboratory provides the capability to create multimedia training
scenarios integrating digitized audio and video with computer
generated 3D animation, scanned photography, and graphics which
provide a true-to-life, virtual environment for operator and
maintenance training. Digital services are provided which include:
conversion of paper text, graphics, photographs, video, and audio
into digitized libraries; data capture of computer monitors, video
screens and live action; and mastering of CD-ROMs. ILEX DSSD has extensive experience developing and
producing systems that are compliant with Section 508 standards
1194.22 and 1194.24, such as the following fully compliant products:
Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) Computer
